Sometimes life is difficult, issues from the past and present can affect our lives at anytime leaving us feeling unbalanced. This may cause feelings of being unable to cope, putting tension on home and work life, strains on relationships or perhaps leaving you feeling uncertain regarding your future. Maybe you feel your problems are difficult to discuss with family or friends because you feel they may judge or misunderstand.
How does counselling help?
Counselling is talking therapy, which will give you time and space in a non-judgemental, confidential and safe environment to discuss and explore you problems. Talking to a counsellor can help you make sense of certain difficulties, thereby encouraging you to make positive changes and providing you with different tools or strategies, that you can use in your daily life. This can help increase your self awareness and confidence allowing you to find more balance.
A very important part of counselling is the therapeutic relationship taking place in the counselling room. I understand how daunting this whole process can be and choosing the right counsellor to work with is important.
